- We define the product, which incorporates multiple battery modules and an ECU and is ready for on-board use as a battery system as the “battery pack.”

- The mechanical parts of the battery pack are manufactured with various materials and in shapes according to the requirements (battery weight and capacity) of automotive manufacturers and they protect the battery main unit from shocks and vibrations. In addition, the battery pack is provided with a cooling system to prevent the battery temperature from increasing excessively.

- A battery module consists of multiple unit batteries, which are separately called “battery cell”s. The battery cell is built by alternately combining a positive electrode and a negative electrode and injecting the electrolyte in it.

- The battery module is provided with functions to discharge and charge electric energy for driving the motor.

- This is the electronic control unit (ECU) of the battery pack.
- Function
- To know the battery condition, the unit measures the voltage, current, temperatures, etc. of the battery module and monitors inputs and outputs to and from the battery. Furthermore, it also executes the management to cool the battery and monitors the high-voltage safety circuit, thereby ensuring safe and efficient use of the battery pack.
The battery systems that we develop constitute the major part of hybrid vehicles. They have been incorporated in 3 million or more hybrid vehicles and they are already disseminated widely in the society. The following are part of the cars in which our battery systems are incorporated.
